For years, autogenous bone grafts have been considered as a gold standard in ridge augmentation.
However, the need for two surgical sites (donor, recipient), the limited quantity of bone available, the morbidity of these surgeries and risks for complications limit their indications.
A new generation of biomaterial based on a well documented material allowing ridge reconstructions, alveolar presentations in a simple way, is now a major evolution of these reconstruction protocols.
Indications and contra indications will be discussed through numerous case presentations and illustrations/videos
