Prof. Dr. Jürgen Manhart

Professor Dr. Juergen Manhart graduated from the Dental School of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU), Munich, in 1994. He is a nationally and internationally renowned lecturer in the field of esthetic and restorative dentistry (composites, ceramics, esthetic post systems, treatment planning). In 1994 Prof. Manhart started working as a clinical dentist and scientist in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, LMU. In 1997 conferment of the title Dr. med. dent. (summa cum laude). From 1997 to 1998, he completed a postdoc program for dental biomaterials, esthetic dentistry and interdisciplinary treatment planning as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Dental School of the University of Texas, Houston, USA. Prof. Manhart currently holds the position as a Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the LMU Dental School. He is a member of the German Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Sciences, German Society for Restorative and Conservative Dentistry, and the German Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Main focus of his extensive clinical work is related to esthetic dentistry (composite, ceramics, veneers) and the management of large, complex prosthodontic full-mouth rehabilitations. Since 1994, Prof. Manhart studies and teaches adhesive and esthetic dentistry. He authored 1 book, several book chapters, and has published more than 200 articles in many of the leading dental journals. He is principal investigator in many clinical trials and in vitro studies and researches the clinical longevity of dental restorations.
