Dr. Carlo Ercoli DDS

Dr. Ercoli is chairman of the Prosthodontics Postgraduate Training Program at EIOH. A native of Italy where he earned his dental degree, Dr. Ercoli continued his advanced training in ways to restore the comfort, appearance and function of the mouth when patients have missing or damaged teeth (prosthodontics). He is also trained in treatment of the jaw and facial muscles (the areas affected by TMD and TMJ), and of the gums and tissues that support the teeth. Dr. Ercoli is internationally published in prosthodontics and implant dentistry and has lectured locally, nationally and internationally. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and past president of the American Prosthodontic Society. He enjoys treating patients, and his double specialization allows him to be your expert for simple and complex needs.

Dr. Carlo Ercoli is Professor of Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Implant Surgery and Chairman of the Prosthodontic Department at the University of Rochester, Eastman Institute for Oral Health where he also serves as the Director for the Center of Excellence for Digital Dentistry. He graduated from the “Enrico Berlinguer” Dental Technology Institute in Rome in 1987 and obtained his DDS from the University of Siena, Italy in 1993. He specialized in Prosthodontics in 1996 at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York and completed a specialty training in Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Joint Disorders in 1997. In 2012, he achieved specialty certification in Periodontology. In 2019, he obtained his MBA from the Simon Business School of the University of Rochester.

Dr. Ercoli is a Past President of the American Prosthodontic Society, Executive Council Member of the Academy of Prosthodontics, Honorary Member of the Italian Academy of Prosthodontics, Founding Member of the Italian Society of Prosthodontics and Oral Rehabilitation, Education and Research Director of the American College of Prosthodontists, Board Member of the American College of Prosthodontists Education Foundation, and Director-Elect of the American Board of Prosthodontics. He served as Executive Council member of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, Scientific Program Chair of the American Prosthodontics Society, American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and Academy of Prosthodontics (2024 Program). Dr. Ercoli is a diplomate of the American Boards of Prosthodontics and Periodontology, an ITI Fellow and Chair of the USA ITI East Region, in addition to serving as a Member of the World Workshop on the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-implant Diseases and Conditions. He holds memberships in the American Academy of Periodontology, American College of Prosthodontists, American Dental Education Association, Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, American Prosthodontic Society and American Dental Education Association. Dr. Newton Fahl Jr. received his DDS degree from Londrina State University, Brazil, in 1987. In 1989 he received the Certificate in Operative Dentistry and Master of Science degree from the University of Iowa, USA. After returning to Brazil, he settled in Curitiba, where he maintains a private practice emphasizing esthetic and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Newton Fahl, Jr. is a member of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED), and founding member and past-president of the Brazilian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry (BSAD). He is a MCG-Hinman Foundation fellow. Robert F. Faulkner DDS

Robert F. Faulkner, DDS, graduated from The Ohio State University in 1980. Following a 1-year hospital residency, he practiced general dentistry in northwest Ohio until 1990, when he returned to an advanced graduate residency program in prosthodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Faulkner received his certificate in prosthodontics in 1992 as well as a certificate in maxillofacial prosthetics in 1993. In addition, he received full training through the UCLA Implant Center during his three year residency training programs. He has lectured extensively on several aspects of prosthodontics and implant dentistry, both nationally and internationally. Dr Faulkner resides in Cincinnati, Ohio where he maintains a private practice limited to fixed and removable prosthodontics, maxillofacial prosthetics, and implant prosthodontics.

Caroline Fedder studied medicine and dentistry at the Medizinische Hochschule Hannover, Germany, and University of Wales College of Medicine, United Kingdom, from 1996 and completed her thesis (Dr med) 2005 in Hannover. She started her medical specialization in maxillofacial surgery in the private Stadtparkpraxis in Hannover, continued at the University Hospital Zürich, Switzerland, and finished 2010 at Katharinenhospital Stuttgart, Germany. She joined Konrad Wangerin's department at the Marienhospital Stuttgart, where she continued her additional specialization in Orthognatic Surgery. In 2014 she became Senior Registrar at the medius Clinic Ostfildern-Ruit, and in 2019 gained the specialization Plastic Operations. In the same year, she co-founded the clinic for maxillofacial and plastic facial surgery of the Alb-Fils-Clinics Göppingen, Germany, and became leading Senior Registrar. Dr Fedder regularly lectures on orthognatic surgery, especially in interdisciplinary symposia with orthodontists, and dedicates her time to facilitating open access to knowledge and high quality training for surgeons in orthognatic surgery.

ZTM Vincent Fehmer BDT, MDT

Vincent Fehmer, MDT, received his dental technical education and degree in Stuttgart, Germany, before completing fellowships in Great Britain and the United States in Oral Design–certified dental technical laboratories. After working several years in such a laboratory in Berlin, he received his MDT degree and became the chief dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics in Zurich, Switzerland. Since 2015, he has been a dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials in Geneva, Switzerland. He also runs his own laboratory in Lausanne. Mr Fehmer is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology, an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED), and a member of the Oral Design group as well as the European Association of Dental Technology (EADT) and the German Society of Esthetic Dentistry (DGÄZ). He is a sought-after international speaker and has received many honors for his work, including the Kenneth Rudd Award from the American Prosthodontic Society. He has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals within the field of fixed prosthodontics and digital dental technology, contributed to many books, and recently coauthored the book Fixed Restorations: A Clinical Guide to the Selection of Materials and Fabrication Technology with Irena Sailer and Bjarni Pjetursson. Mr Fehmer also serves as Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry, Section Editor for the International Journal of Prosthodontics, and co-chair for the 26thInternational Symposium on Ceramics (June 2023).
