We are pleased to announce the 4th International Symposium, which will be offered by the Buser & Sculean Academy in Bern, Switzerland.

This Symposium has a tradition since 2013 and is unique, since it combines the surgical aspects of regeneration and esthetics in both fields, Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. The 2-day Symposium will be offered for the first time as a hybrid event. The Symposium has again four sessions with topics of high clinical relevance in both fields. The invited speakers are international top-class speakers with lots of clinical experience and a top reputation. They will all be present in Bern.

In addition, we offer as add-on like in 2019 a Live-Surgery Day on Thursday with 4 live surgeries at the School of Dental Medicine directly streamed to the Congress Center Kursaal Bern. During the 2-day Symposium, the world class speakers have 40 min lectures to provide in-depth lectures with clinical step-by-step procedures. The focus will be clearly on surgical techniques how to deal with tissue deficiencies around teeth or at implant sites. At the end of each session, a panel discussion will follow to discuss relevant questions.

We also organize an attractive Social Dinner on Friday evening with a program performed by the famous comedian Massimo Rocchi which explores the absurdities of human existence through witty stories, pantomime performances, and linguistic fireworks. If you are not able to come to Bern and attend the Symposium, you can be an online participant using the live- and on-demand stream. The content of the Symposium will be available with a high-quality streaming platform for two months on-demand, like Netflix.

Prof. Dr. Markus B. Hürzeler DMD, PhD

Germany, München

The coverage of recessions around teeth is a very successful surgical treatment. The published evidence suggests that periodontal plastic surgeons can very predictably perform these procedures. However, how does reality present? What are the measurement methods and indexes used to support the external evidence? During this lecture, we will look very critically at the evidence we used to support our enthusiasm about the coverage of recession procedures. Second, we will try to answer the raised question in the title of this lecture. Third, the entire thought process will be supported by clinical cases.
