Liebe Kolleginnen, liebe Kollegen
Nach einer Durststrecke ohne Meetings bei denen man physisch anwesend sein konnte, sind wir dankbar wieder solch schöne Veranstaltungen planen zu dürfen. Gerade das SnowDent lebt von persönlichen Treffen und vor allem von lebhaften Diskussionen.
Und so freuen wir uns auf das 9. SnowDent Meeting im Suvretta House in St.Moritz im Februar 2022, welches nach dem gleich erfolgreichen Prinzip wie die Vorherigen organisiert ist: Neben Vorträgen von Topreferenten zu ganz gezielten, klinisch relevanten Fragestellungen wird viel Zeit zur Verfügung stehen, darüber zu diskutieren. Alle Referenten, die für diese Veranstaltung zugesagt haben, sind während der ganzen Fortbildung anwesend und werden an diversen Diskussionsrunden teilnehmen.
Selbstverständlich ist an diesem wunderbaren Ort auch Zeit zum Skifahren oder einfach zum Ausspannen geplant. Am Donnerstag findet eine Welcome Reception mit anschliessendem Dinner im Hotel Suvretta House gemeinsam mit allen Referenten statt. Der Hüttenabend im "El Paradiso" mit Live Musik und Tanz am Freitag darf als traditionelles Highlight natürlich nicht fehlen.
Neu endet die Veranstaltung am Samstag Mittag, so dass für die Teilnehmer genügend Zeit verbleibt um nach Hause zu fahren oder das Weekend im Engadin fortzusetzen.

Daniel Buser, DDS, Prof em Dr med dent, is one of the most experienced international implant surgeons, with 35 years of surgical experience. He is past professor and chairman in the Department of Oral Surgery at the University of Bern in Switzerland and past president of the European Association for Osseointegration, the Swiss Society of Oral Implantology, the Swiss Society of Oral Surgery and Stomatology, and the International Team for Implantology (ITI). He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the ITI Honorary Fellowship and the Morton Amsterdam Award. He has authored and coauthored over 400 publications and is editor of 30 Years of Guided Bone Regeneration (Quintessence, 2021), which was recently published in its third edition. Dr Buser is cofounder of the Buser & Sculean Academy, which offers continuing education courses in periodontology and implant dentistry, and lectures nationally and internationally.
Ueli Grunder, DMD, is a past president of the Swiss Society of Oral Implantology and the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He has published numerous papers and the book Implants in the Esthetic Zone (Quintessence, 2015), which has been translated into 11 languages. He lectures extensively nationally and internationally on the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant dentistry. Dr Grunder maintains a group private practice in Zollikon-Zürich, Switzerland.
The coverage of recessions around teeth is a very successful surgical treatment. The published evidence suggests that periodontal plastic surgeons can very predictably perform these procedures. However, how does reality present? What are the measurement methods and indexes used to support the external evidence? During this lecture, we will look very critically at the evidence we used to support our enthusiasm about the coverage of recession procedures. Second, we will try to answer the raised question in the title of this lecture. Third, the entire thought process will be supported by clinical cases.

Peter Schupbach studied natural sciences at the Federal Technical High School of Switzerland and did 1979 his degree as Doctor of Science. He spent over 20 years at the Dental Institute of the University of Zurich as a head of a histological group. He has a PhD in biology and was lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of the University Zurich for "Oral Biology and Pathophysiology". He is member of several international organizations and author or co-author of over 70 peer-reviewed publications in the fields of implantology, bone augmentation, tissue regeneration, oral microbiology and oral pathophysiology. He is an international lecturer in implantology. Today he is owner of Schupbach Ltd, a histology and research laboratory for biomaterials in Switzerland. He is associate Professor at the School of Dentistry, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta and since 2008 he is adjunct Professor of Periodontics at the School of Medicine, Robert Schattner Center, University of Pennsylvania, USA. He also is a consultant for the "The International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry" and faculty member of the "Global Institute for Dental Education" (gIDE, Los Angeles, US).
