Der multimediale Kurs definiert die Leitsymptome lebensbedrohlicher Notfälle und zeigt ihre professionelle Versorgung. Die Grundlage sind allgemeine Maßnahmen, wie das Prüfen der Vitalfunktionen und die stabile Seitenlage. Die Cardiopulmonale Reanimation demonstriert der Autor schrittweise und geht anschließend ausführlich auf den Einsatz eines Automatischen Externen Defibrillators (AED) ein.

Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ist die Versorgung eines Patienten mit einer anaphylaktischen Reaktion, beispielsweise auf Lokalanästhetika. Der Kurs besteht aus Videosequenzen und Texttafeln. Animationen und ein Sprecher vervollständigen das didaktische Konzept.
