Dr. Patrick Palacci graduated at the University of Marseille in 1975. He continued his postgraduate education in periodontology at Boston University (USA), where he received the title of Post-graduate. He was appointed Consultant Professor at Boston University in 1982. In 2004 he received the title of Associate Professor at the University of Santiago de Chile and the University of Buenos Aires in 2006. He maintains a private practice in Marseille. His centre is one of 12 Brånemark Osseointegration centres in the world, working closely with Professor PI Brånemark. Dr. Palacci has developed many surgical techniques in relation to optimal implant positioning, plastic surgery techniques and papillae regeneration. He is the author of numerous scientific articles written over the last twenty years in international journals. He is also the author of two books dealing with the esthetic and implant treatment. These books have been written in English and published in nine different languages. A third book in conjunction with the technique NobelGuide was written in 2008 jointly with Prof. Peter K. Moy (Los Angeles) and Ingvar Ericsson (Sweden), also translated into Japanese. He wrote at the request of Professor PI Brånemark, a chapter on esthetics and soft tissue management in the book “From calvanium to calcaneum” considered the bible of implantology. He received the Nobelpharma Award in 1995 on the most important advances in surgery over the past 30 years. Dr. Palacci currently provides many courses in his clinic in Marseille, advanced courses for experienced practitioners. Groups from many countries (Sweden, Denmark, Chile, Italy, USA, Japan, Australia New Zealand…) could receive his teaching. He was invited, and continues to give numerous lectures around the world.
Dr. Palombo graduated in dentistry from the University of Milan in 2015, with a concentration in oral surgery (Head Prof. Matteo Chiapasco). In 2017, he won the International Research Fellowship of the Italian Society of Osseointegration and obtained a Master of Sciences (MSc) from the Complutense University in Madrid. Then, he completed a post-graduate program in periodontal plastic surgery at the University of Bologna (Head Prof. Giovanni Zucchelli) and is now enrolled in the 3 year full-time master in periodontics and implant dentistry at the Complutense University in Madrid (Head Prof. Mariano Sanz), certified by the European Federation of Periodontology.
Hans Pancherz, DDS, Odont. Dr. (PhD), received his dental and orthodontic education at the School of Dentistry, University of Lund in Malmö, Sweden. He became a certied specialist in Orthodontics in 1974. In 1976 he finished his PhD thesis on “Long-term effects of activator (Andresen appliance) treatment”. From 1975 to 1985 he was Associate Professor at the Orthodontic Department, University of Lund. In 1985 he was appointed Chair Professor at the University of Giessen, Germany, where he served from 1985 until 2005. Professor Pancherz has published 140 scientic articles, 72 of which deal with the Herbst appliance. He has been invited as lecturer at more than 200 national and international conferences all over the world and has received numerous awards and honors. At the Dental Faculty in Hong Kong, Professor Pancherz served as Honorary Professor in 1996 and 1997 and as Visiting Professor in 2007. He was Keith Godfrey Visiting Professor in Sydney in 1997. Furthermore, he acted as External Examiner for the Masters in Orthodontics in Hong-Kong in 1996 and 1997 and in Sydney in 1997 and 2006. Moreover, he is Editorial Board Member of several orthodontic journals. Professor Pancherz is particularly interested in clinical research, focusing on functional appliances and their effects on growth, electromyography of the masticatory muscles and long-term evaluation of dentofacial orthopedic interventions.
Gianluca Paniz achieved his dental degree (DDS) at the University of Padova (Italy) in 2002. He attended TUFTS University (Boston, USA) for more than three years (2003-2007) and achieved the Certificate of Advanced Education in Prosthodontics, the Master of Science and the Certificate of Advanced Education in Esthetic Dentistry. At the moment Gianluca Paniz is Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at TUFTS University and Visiting Professor in the Department of Implantology at the University of Padova. Gianluca is Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and International Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics, Member of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry (AIOP), Active Member of the of the Italian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (IAED) and President of the Scientific Committee of Italian Society of Osseointegration (SIO). Gianluca Paniz limits his practice to prosthodontics in his office in Padova Italy.
Since 2014, Dr Paolone is a Research Professor in Restorative Dentistry, Università Vita Salute San Raffaele, Milan. He has a PhD in Dental Biomaterials (Portsmouth University, UK). He is an associate member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry and an active member of AIC. Dr Paolone served on the board of AIC (as Secretary) in 2018–2019, and on its the scientific committee (2020–2022). He has his own private practice in Rome. He is a Lecturer on the Master in Esthetics and Restorative Dentistry, University of Bologna, Italy and on the Diploma in Esthetic Dentistry at Montpellier University, France. He is the author of the book "Restauri diretti nei settori posteriori" (Direct Posterior Composite Restorations) published in 2018, which has been translated into English, German, and Chinese. He is the author of the book "Restauri diretti nei settori anteriori" (Direct Anterior Restorations), published in 2020. He is also the author and co-author of several publications in international scientific journals and contributions in several textbooks. He has lectured on national and international courses and congresses.
Jacinthe M. Paquette, DDS, is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, and past president of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontics. She has authored numerous research and clinical articles and coauthored several textbook chapters. Dr Paquette is co-executive director of the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute, a nonprofit international teaching facility for dentists and dental technicians located in Newport Beach, California.
Rade D. Paravina, DDS, MS, PhD, is a tenured professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics and director of the Houston Center for Biomaterials and Biomimetics (HCBB). He holds the Ralph C. Cooley, DDS Distinguished Professorship in Biomaterials, an endowment created by world-renowned heart surgeon Denton A. Cooley, MD. Dr Paravina has authored/co-edited four books, 15 book chapters, two software programs, one educational CD, and more than 270 other peer-reviewed publications (including articles and abstracts). His work has been cited more than 2500 times on Scopus and over 5500 times on Google Scholar. Dr Paravina designed and/or developed several dental products and tests. This includes Linearguide 3D Master and Bleachedguide 3D Master shade guides (with Vita Zahnfabrik), Dental Color Matcher, a free online educational and training program for esthetic dentistry, and the scientific protocol for evaluating the "chameleon effect" of dental materials. Dr Paravina is founder and past president of the Society for Color and Appearance in Dentistry (SCAD). He is a recipient of the 2011 E. B. Clark Award, SCAD recognition for liefetime achievement, and the 2014 Jerome M. and Dorothy Schweitzer Research Award of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics. He is Director of the Executive Council of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED) and a fellow of AAED, SCAD, and the American Association for Dental Research (AADR). He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry and an editorial board member of several highly regarded journals.
Stefano Parma-Benfenati, MD, DDS, MScD, is a visiting professor in postgraduate periodontology at the University of Turin and a professor in postgraduate oral surgery and pathology at the University of Parma. Dr Parma-Benfenati has been an active member of the Italian Society of Periodontology since 1987 and maintains a private practice limited to periodontology and implantology in Ferrara, Italy.
Dr Mario Parra is the pioneer in the implementation of THE SWISS BIOHEALTH CONCEPT in Spain, being the first and only Spanish dentist to obtain the certification of specialist in biological dentistry and expert in ceramic implants, recognised by international associations such as ISMI in Europe (International Society for Metalfree Implantology) and IAOCI in the United States (International Academy of Ceramic Implantology). In addition, he was the third in Europe and the first and only in Spain to receive the AMBASSADOR certification for excellence in ceramic dental implantology.

Shanon divides his time between specialist practice in central London, and teaching in the Endodontic Postgraduate Unit at King's College London. His primary research interests include the factors influencing tooth survival, management of root resorption, dental trauma, and the applications of CBCT in Endodontics. He has supervised over 35 Masters and PhD students. His expertise in endodontic imaging led to him being the lead author of the European Society of Endodontology's position statement on CBCT in Endodontics. Shanon is regularly invited to lecture nationally and internationally on a variety of endodontic themes. He has published over 60 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, (co-)authored 15 book chapters, and co-edited three endodontic textbooks.
