The 9th World Dental Meeting in Japan 2023 will be held in conjunction with World Young Dental Innovators' Meeting 2023 and The 9th World Dental Show 2023 from September 29 to October 1, 2023, at PACIFICO Yokohama.
The meeting will bring together world-renowned speakers to share their knowledge and ideas at an international level. All dental professionals will find these meetings beneficial for their professional education and practices.
Dr. Alessandro Agnini graduated in 1989 from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. He practices in his Modena and Sassuolo offices, where he devotes himself exclusively to the disciplines of fixed prosthetics, periodontology, and implantology. Active Member of the Italian Academy of Osseointegration (IAO), Italian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (IAED), Digital Implant and Rehabilitation Academy (DIRA), International Digital Dental Academy (IDDA), from 2006 to 2020 Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry (AIOP). Founding member of the Italian Society of Prosthetics and Oral Rehabilitation (SIPRO). Author and coauthor of scientific publications in national and international journals and speaker at national and international congresses. Since 2011, he has been a speaker at www.dentalxp.com, of which he is a member of the editorial board. Author of the books The Digital Revolution: the Learning Curve and The Digital Revolution 2.0: Clinico-Technical Applications in Daily Practice published by Quintessence Publishing Italy in 2014 and 2022, respectively. Wael Att, DDS, Dr med dent, PhD, is professor and chair of the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and a professor of prosthodontics at the University of Freiburg School of Dentistry in Germany. He serves as president of the International Academy for Digital Dental Medicine, past president of the Prosthodontics Group of the International Association for Dental Research as well as president of the Arabian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr Att is a board-certified prosthodontist from the German Society of Prosthodontics and Biomaterials and an active member of multiple professional organizations, including the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Gustavo Avila-Ortiz obtained a DDS degree and completed a PhD training program at the University of Granada (Spain), before moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) where he graduated with an MS degree and a Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Michigan. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Avila-Ortiz has over 10 years of experience as an educator and has worked to advance the profession in numerous institutional committees and scientific organizations. He is a former faculty member at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where he was the Phillip A. Lainson Professor and Chair of the Department of Periodontics until 2022. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry. He has authored more than 100 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and numerous book chapters. He is the co-author of the book TISSUES: Critical Issue in Periodontics and Implant-Related Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Quintessence Publishing 2022), which has been critically acclaimed within the profession. Dr. Avila-Ortiz is currently a Visiting Professor in the Division of Periodontics at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and a member of Atelier Dental Madrid (Spain), a center for dental excellence where he maintains a private practice limited to Periodontics and Implant Dentistry and is regularly engaged in scholarly and continuing-education activities.
Markus B. Blatz, DMD, PhD, Dr med dent habil, is a professor of restorative dentistry, the chairman of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, and the assistant dean for Digital Innovation and Professional Development at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, where he founded the Penn Dental Medicine CAD/CAM Ceramic Center. He is an associate editor of Quintessence International and a coauthor of the international bestseller Evolution: Contemporary Protocols for Anterior Single-Tooth Implants (Quintessence, 2014). Dr Blatz is the recipient of multiple awards and has lectured extensively on dental esthetics, restorative materials, and implant dentistry.
Dr. Victor Clavijo holds a degree in Dentistry at the Paulista University – UNIP. He later earned both a master’s and a doctoral degree in Restorative Dentistry from the Araraquara Dental School, São Paulo State University – UNESP. He has specialization in Implant Dentistry, SENAC University, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He maintains a private practice emphasizing restorative esthetic dentistry. He published more than 40 articles in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Dr. Karim Dada, DDS, MS, graduated with a degree in dental surgery and post-graduate certificates in implant prosthodontics and implant surgery from the Paris Descartes University. Dr Dada was recognized in 2005 by the Académie Nationale de Chirurgie Dentaire for his work in providing implant treatment to patients with head and neck cancer who are undergoing radiotherapy. Dr Dada maintains a private practice in Paris focusing on perio-plastic surgery and implant dentistry.
Glécio Vaz de Campos, DDS, received his DDS degree from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) in Araraquara, Brazil, in 1982. After he specialized in periodontics and prosthetics, several years of clinical practice led him to explore new techniques focusing on periodontal plastic surgery. In 1996, he was qualified on this subject at the Microsurgery Training Institute in Santa Barbara, California. He had a significant role in introducing periodontal and peri-implant plastic microsurgery techniques to Brazil and expanding the use of the operative microscope there. From 2000 to 2004, Dr Campos served as Director of the Operative Microscopy Department at the São Paulo Dental Association (APCD), where he organized the largest training facility on operative microscopy in South America. Dr Campos has coauthored 16 books related to periodontal and peri-implant plastic microsurgery, as well as scientific articles published in Brazil and abroad. Currently he maintains private practices in Jundiaí and São Paulo, Brazil, where he focuses on periodontal and peri-implant plastic microsurgery and offers regular training courses in his private microscopy laboratory in Jundiaí.
Vincent Fehmer, MDT, received his dental technical education and degree in Stuttgart, Germany, before completing fellowships in Great Britain and the United States in Oral Design–certified dental technical laboratories. After working several years in such a laboratory in Berlin, he received his MDT degree and became the chief dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics in Zurich, Switzerland. Since 2015, he has been a dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials in Geneva, Switzerland. He also runs his own laboratory in Lausanne. Mr Fehmer is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology, an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED), and a member of the Oral Design group as well as the European Association of Dental Technology (EADT) and the German Society of Esthetic Dentistry (DGÄZ). He is a sought-after international speaker and has received many honors for his work, including the Kenneth Rudd Award from the American Prosthodontic Society. He has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals within the field of fixed prosthodontics and digital dental technology, contributed to many books, and recently coauthored the book Fixed Restorations: A Clinical Guide to the Selection of Materials and Fabrication Technology with Irena Sailer and Bjarni Pjetursson. Mr Fehmer also serves as Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry, Section Editor for the International Journal of Prosthodontics, and co-chair for the 26thInternational Symposium on Ceramics (June 2023).
Naoki Hayashi graduated from Osaka Dental University (Japan) in 1992. Soon after graduation he worked in the National Dental Laboratory in Japan.
In 2001, Naoki began working for World Lab USA., the dental laboratory division of Tokushinkai Group, which is the largest dental corporation in Japan. Working as their master ceramist, Naoki would later serve as president of Ultimate Styles Dental Laboratory, the high-end division of World Lab USA. In March 2013.
Among other major accomplishments, are Naoki 's two publications, "A Diary -Through the Lens", published by Quintessence publishing in 2005 and "Past <<Future -Envision 77 Heart Beats -", published by Ishiyaku Publishing in 2010. Both publications are very
useful guides for dentists and technicians. He has also published over 30 articles, several of which are translated into nine languages published all over the world.
Currently Naoki works as a master ceramist and is the president of Ultimate Styles Dental Laboratory in Irvine, CA. In addition to his lab work, he conducts lectures & workshops all over the world. He shares his knowledge and skills by offering many hands
on workshops and teaches current trends in dental technology and treatment planning. He is also an international instructor and advisor for Kuraray Noritake Dental Inc., a dental supply company.

Mario Imburgia, DDS, PhD, graduated with honors in dentistry at the University of Palermo, Italy, and completed his doctorate in periodontology in 2004. He is a member of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry and a fellow of the International Academy for Dento-Facial Esthetics. Dr Imburgia is Assistant Clinical Teacher at the University of Warwick in Conventry, England, as well as Visiting Professor at the City of London Dental School. Doctor Stefen Koubi graduated from the University of Marseille, France, in 1998. He has held the position of Associate Professor in the Restorative Department of Marseille University since 2008 and received his PhD in 2011. He maintains a private practice in Marseille and in Paris. His main areas of interest are esthetic rehabilitation for cosmetic or functional reasons (worn dentition). He has been invited to many prestigious esthetic academies to lecture on simple ways to achieve high-quality esthetic dentistry. He is an invited professor in many esthetic postgraduate programs. Dr Koubi received the Gold Molar title from the students of his university (best teacher of the year) in 2012, and the title of Best French Speaker the same year. Nazariy Mykhaylyuk is a specialist in a field of microscopic dentistry (mostly indirect restorative dentistry). Dr. Ravindra Nanda is Professor Emeritus, Former UConn Alumni Endowed Chair and Head of the Department of Craniofacial Sciences and Division of Orthodontics, University of Connecticut, Farmington, Connecticut, U.S.A. He is also an Adjunct Professor at The Forsyth Institute, Cambridge, Ma, USA.
He received his dental and orthodontic training first at Lucknow, India and then from Nymegen, The Netherlands and the University of Connecticut. He also received a Ph.D. from the University of Nymegen. Since 1972 he has been associated with the University of Connecticut in various academic roles including Chair of Orthodontics from 1991 to 2017.
Dr. Nanda has been active in orthodontic research in the area of biomechanics, clinical trials and acceleration of orthodontic treatment. He has authored with his colleagues more than 250 scientific papers. He is Editor-in-Chief of Progress in Orthodontics and he is on the editorial board of ten different national and international orthodontic journals. He is also an associate editor of Journal of Clinical Orthodontics.
In 2022 he was awarded Fellow of World Federation of Orthodontics (WFO). He has given numerous named lectures at national and international societies including Mershon and Angle Heritage Lectures at the American Association of Orthodontics and Sheldon Friel Lecture at the 2011 EOS Congress. Andreas Nolte graduated as a Certified Dental Technician in Lübbecke in 1989 and worked at several dental laboratories through 1993. The following eight years he worked in an in-office laboratory. Following various stints in different areas of Germany and abroad in 2001 and 2002, he founded his own company Enamelum et Dentinum in Münster, where he has been running his own laboratory and training center since 2004. Nolte has authored several articles in dental and dental technology journals and has been a presenter on the international stage since 2000. He is a member of the editorial boards of Quintessenz Zahntechnik and Dental Dialogue and has been a member of “Group 65” for several years.
Dr. Pariente earned his DDS degree from the University of Paris René Descartes in 2009. He enrolled at New York University College of Dentistry in the advanced program for international dentists in implant dentistry, graduating in 2012). After returning to Paris, his private practice is limited to implantology and periodontology. He is also a part-time faculty member in the implant department at the University Paris V. He coauthored several international and national publications on implant dentistry and is currently involved in several research projects at the University of Paris René Descartes on immediate implant placement and sinus lift procedures.
Dr Jose Manuel Reuss graduated in dentistry from the University Complutense of Madrid, where he also obtained a Master´s Degree of Science. As a postgraduate in surgical implant dentistry at the University of California at Los Angeles, he was a recipient of a grant from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry for preclinical and clinical research. During his postgraduate research, he focused on bone regeneration with growth factor technologies. Dr Jose Manual Reuss’s clinical background both in implant surgery and prosthodontics has led him to develop a facially guided restoration concept. In particular, severe tooth wear or highly dysfunctional cases can benefit from the combination of digital protocols and a more traditional classical workflow. His current clinical and research foci relie on the integration of facial scanners into guided surgery systems, restorative protocols, and clinician-technician communication. As an affiliate member of the European Academy of Esthetics Dentistry, he is an enthusiast of multidisciplinary thinking and is therefore also a member of the Spanish Society of Prosthodontics (SEPES), the Spanish Society of Periodontics (SEPA), the Academy of Osseointegration (AO), and the European Academy of Osseointegration (EAO). Dr Jose Manuel Reuss is a Collaborating Professor in the Postgraduate Prosthodontics Department in the field of implant and restorative dentistry at the University Complutense of Madrid, the University of Leon, and at the Esthetic Dentistry Department at the University San Pablo CEU of Madrid. His current focus of research is digital implant dentistry and severe tooth wear with the aim to optimize diagnostic and treatment phases and engage the working team in research. His goal to simplify the communication between the team members of an integrated multifaceted treatment plan challenges Dr Reuss almost as much as his passion for sports in his personal life.
Dr. Domenico Ricucci received his degree in General Medicine from "La Sapienza" University of Rome in 1982, and his DDS from the same University in 1985. Since then on he has maintained private dental practices limited to endodontics. He served in the Research Committee of the European Society of Endodontology from 1999 to 2005. Since 1998 he has run his own histology laboratory and his primary research interest relates to pulpal and periapical tissue reactions to caries and treatment procedures, biofilms in endodontic infections, etiology of RTC treatment failure, pulp regeneration / revascularization.
Dr Ricucci has published 112 papers and has lectured both nationally and internationally. He has authored the Textbook and Atlas "Patologia e Clinica Endodontica", the textbook and atlas "Endodontology. An integrated biological and clinical view", also translated into Chinese, Russian, Japanese. He has also authored or co-authored 22 book chapters.
Isabella Rocchietta, DDS, MSc, is an honorary senior research associate to the Department of Periodontology and a lecturer for the Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute in London. She is an elected board member of the European Academy for Osseointegration and a member of the Experts Council of the Osteology Foundation. She is the author of several national and international peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Dr Rocchietta performs clinical work limited to periodontics and implant dentistry in London and Milan and lectures internationally.
Irena Sailer, Prof Dr med dent, is chair of the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials at the University of Geneva and adjunct associate professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. In 2019, she received an Honorary Skou Professorship of digital dental technologies, fixed and implant prosthodontics, and biomaterials at Aarhus University, Denmark. Dr Sailer is editor-in-chief of The International Journal of Prosthodontics and coauthor of over 150 peer-reviewed publications as well as the books Fixed Restorations: A Clinical Guide to the Selection of Materials and Fabrication Technology (Quintessence, 2021) and Color in Dentistry (2017). She holds several patents on esthetic coatings of dental/medical devices and a digital dental splint.
Todd Schoenbaum, DDS, MS, is a Professor at the Dental College of Georgia, where serves as the Coordinator for Implant Education and Related Research, training residents and students in implant restorations and clinical research. He was previously full Clinical Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Director of UCLA Continuing Education. Dr Schoenbaum has published over 50 papers and 2 textbooks, and he is the recipient of the scientific writing award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. He has a master’s in clinical research from the UCLA School of Medicine, and he has been invited to present his clinical and scientific work at conferences worldwide.
Dr. Schupp graduated in dentistry in 1985 from the University of Münster and continued his studies here as a postgraduate student of orthodontics under the direction of Prof. Dr. U Ehmer. Collaboration in the orthodontic private practice of Dr. DE Toll followed and since 1990, he has been in private practice as an orthodontics specialist in Cologne, Germany. In his office, over 6000 patients have been treated with aligner orthodontics. He is certified in Manual Medicine and Osteopathy for Orthodontics. Dr. Schupp is a founding member and past president of the German Board of Orthodontics and Orofacial Orthopedics, and a board member of the German Society of Aligner Orthodontics (DGAO). He is also founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics (JAO) and an advisory board member for the periodical Manuelle Medizin. He has published various articles concerning orthodontics, function, and pain therapy. He has written the books Funktionslehre in der Kieferorthopädie and Kraniomandibuläres und Muskuloskelletales System, as well as the first edition of Aligner Orthodontics, published in 2016 (Quintessence Publishing) and translated in several languages. Dr. Schupp is also visiting professor at the Capital University, Beijing, China.
Sandra Tai, BDS, MS, has been an Invisalign certified orthodontist since 2000 and is currently an Invisalign Top 1%/Diamond Provider who has teated over 1,500 cases with Invisalign. As an editorial board member for the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics and a member of Align Tech Faculty in North America, she is involved in several clinical research projects and FDA clinical trials with clear aligners. Dr Tai is currently a clinical assistant professor in Orthodontics as well as the coordinator for the Invisalign program at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. She also maintains a busy international lecture schedule, speaking to orthodontists all over the world about clear aligners and their potential. Dr Tai is a Fellow of the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists, Canada, as well as a member of several professional organizations. She is also the founding member and past president of the Orthodontics Ties Seminars Study Club in Vancouver and the Vancouver Invisalign Study Club, where she mentors and trains dentists in the Invisalign system. She received her graduate training in Orthodontics at the University of Minnesota.
Istvan Urban, DMD, MD, PhD, teaches implant dentistry in the graduate program at Loma Linda University in California and is also an adjunct clinical associate professor in the Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan. He has published widely on bone regeneration and soft tissue reconstructive surgery around dental implants and is the author of the textbooks Vertical and Horizontal Ridge Augmentation: New Perspectives (Quintessence, 2017) and Vertical 2: The Next Level of Hard and Soft Tissue Augmentation (2022). Dr Urban is licensed in the state of California and maintains a private practice in Budapest, Hungary.
Dr Debora R. Vilaboa graduated from the Complutense University Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Madrid. The same year, she was accepted at the Seville School of Dentistry, where she obtained her dental degree. Later on she chose to attend the Advanced Pediactric Dentistry Program at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. After establishing the Vilaboa Clinic in 1987, she found that some cases could not be explained by caries nor periodontal disease and began gathering data. She lectured on tooth wear as early as 1992, both in Spain and the United States. Understanding how to approach the treatment of young children helped Dr Deborah Vilaboa in her work with tooth wear patients, many of whom had a fear of dentistry. As a pioneer in the field of porcelain laminate veneers, she treated such cases with a novel adhesive concept. Dr Debora Vilaboa soon became a member of the Spanish Society of Stomatological Prosthetics (SEPES) and the Spanish Society of Periodontology (SEPA). Her passion for treating patients and continuing education was rewarded in becoming an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED). She was then able to pursue her restorative and prosthodontic interests, thanks to a truly collaborative and generous exchange of knowledge among the active members that is still a driving force for the team at Vilaboa Clinic. She is also an active member of the Italian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (IAED). Dr Debora Vilaboa was invited by the San Pablo CEU University to create an undergraduate Esthetic Dentistry Department that she co-directs with her sister, Dr Beatriz Vilaboa. She lectures worldwide in esthetic dentistry, with a focus on tooth wear. She was a contributor to Esthetics in Dentistry (Quintessence, 2016). Given her medical background, Dr Deboarh Vilaboa is devoted to understanding and treating conditions arising from medical and oral imbalances, and through her research, she has obtained several patents related to her work. She is an active member of the American Academy of Oral Medicine (AAOM), a fellow member of the International College of Dentists (ICD), and an academic at the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Otto Zuhr studied dentistry at the University of Aachen from 1986 to 1992. He is board-certified specialist in Periodontology of the German Society of Periodontology (DGParo) and runs a private office together with Marc Hürzeler in Munich, Germany dedicated to periodontology and implant dentistry. With more than 25 years of clinical experience and teaching practice, Dr. Zuhr has become a proven expert in his field well beyond the European borders. From 2007 to 2014 he was board member of the German Society of Periodontology (DGParo) and he`s presently holding an associate professorship position at the Department of Periodontology of the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, Germany (Director: Prof. Peter Eickholz). Otto Zuhr has written several refereed scientific articles in the field of periodontology and implant dentistry. His book "Plastic Esthetic Periodontal and Implant Surgery" was published by Quintessence Publishing in 2012. His research activities are focused on oral soft tissue wound healing and oral soft tissue reconstruction.
