ADI Team Congress 2023

Dear friends and colleagues,

It has been an honour to help lead the ADI over the past couple of years and I am delighted to present the ADI Team Congress 2023. The standard of this event has continued to rise in recent years and Eimear’s Congress in 2022 delivered an exceptional three days of education, networking and pure joy for our members and the wider dental implant community.

So, what can you expect for 2023? The ADI has been working hard to create a new programme packed with the high-calibre speakers and insightful content that has come to be expected of our educational events. The next Team Congress is coming to Birmingham on 4-6 May 2023, entitled “Dental Implants: Individual Excellence or Team Triumph”. As the name suggests, the programme will put a spotlight on the importance of collaboration between the dental implant team, in addition to the skill and talent of clinicians providing this modality.

As a periodontologist, I am one of many professionals to have always advocated for a multi-disciplinary approach to dental implant treatment. This involves all members of the team who are involved with each step in the patient journey. Though each person needs sufficient knowledge, skill and confidence to provide relevant information and support, only by working together can their capabilities be truly optimised for the benefit of our patients.

The ADI has long been committed to promoting and facilitating a team approach to dental implants, with various educational and networking events at Congress offering programmes tailored to each member of the team. There will be lectures and seminars from some of the biggest names in the profession, as well as hands-on workshops and the opportunity to engage with friends and colleagues who share your passion for dental implantology and clinical excellence.

I am really looking forward to our new feature for 2023, which will provide sessions dedicated to young dentists interested in getting into dental implantology. A line-up of fantastic speakers will share how they got started in the field and the different pathways available. They will be offering a wealth of information, useful tips and guidance to help young delegates start their own career journeys into dental implantology with confidence.

What’s more, it will be a delight to welcome you all to Birmingham. This great city was home to one of the most successful Commonwealth Games this summer for Team GB, who took away a record 176 medals and finished second only to Australia. Don’t miss this chance to explore, enjoy some excellent food or craft ale, and let your hair down with friends in the various bars of Broad Street. For any fans of Peaky Blinders, there are several attractions that might interest you too, including tours of the main filming sites around Birmingham, museums and more. All-in-all it’s a fantastic place for a busy weekend trip so why not bring the family?

I am privileged to be presenting the ADI Team Congress 2023 and excited to see what pearls of wisdom our amazing speakers will share.
