The Website uses the statistics software “Matomo”, formerly known as “Piwik”, to analyse and optimise the use of the Website. This software is used on Quintessenz Verlags-GmbH's own server and under its own complete control; this means that in respect of the use of this software no data is passed on to third parties and especially not to third parties in other EU countries. The recording of all page visits is carried out by anonymising the IP addresses. Matomo is not linked to logins, sessions or user accounts when used on our Web Portal. In the configuration we use, Matomo does not leave any cookies on your computer. The recognition of computers is therefore not possible.. The settings used also provide for IP addresses to be transmitted anonymously. Therefore, no references to persons can be established through the use of Matomo. The software is only used for very general statistical purposes, such as recording the number of page visits and recording browsing times. Quintessenz Verlags-GmbH has no access to your credit card number. We only see your name and the last three digits of the number and are informed by the respective payment service provider whether the payment was successful or not.
Your consent to the T&Cs and the Data Protection Statement are also stored, as they are an essential prerequisite for the use of the Portal and this means that the consent to the use of data has been given and/or it is documented that the person concerned has been informed in accordance with the data protection regulations. If you are a registered user, author or speaker, you can review products and services on our Website. To ensure that only authentic reviews are available on our Portal, the reviews can only be displayed in a personalised way. If you submit a review, it will therefore be displayed with forename and surname, a profile picture if available, as well as the result and the time stamp of the review. The online offer is therefore set up in such a way that normally only Quintessenz Verlags-GmbH has access to personal data of the user accounts. ADS provides content without knowing user data or having insight into the user accounts of the Portal. The Dentory area is integrated both into the Portal as well as the shops, so that you do not need a separate access for this.
You can subscribe to content such as tutorials, webinars or case reports in the DENTORY area. The contractual partner in this case is Quintessenz Verlags-GmbH.
Furthermore, it is also possible to send an inquiry to “American Dental Systems (ADS)” using the contact form provided. This is particularly interesting for you if you are interested in attendance seminars which cannot be booked directly via the Web Portal. In this case, Quintessenz Verlags-GmbH acts only as an agent for services of the respective provider, and data that you enter in the corresponding form will be forwarded directly to the providing company. and send a request to this company via the Portal, our Portal is simply the platform that enables communication between you and the company via the contact form. If you direct an enquiry to ADS and send your data there using the contact form, the controller in this case is the provider, i.e. American Dental Systems GmbH (in short: ADS). The same applies if you make a corresponding booking with ADS.

The Dentory section is an integrated part of the Web Portal. If you are already registered for the Portal, no separate registration for Dentory is required. If you register here, you will therefore have access to the entire Web Portal. In terms of data collection, this is largely the same as the registration as described in the Customer Account section. Only a few optional fields are not offered here. In particular, the fields
are not available.
You can also access the T&Cs and the data protection statement here. For a successful registration you will need to agree to these documents or confirm that you have read and acknowledged them.
In addition, you can also request the newsletter here by ticking the tick box. With respect to the further procedure for registering for the newsletter, please refer to the “Dentory Newsletter” section.
The corresponding consents will be stored with time stamp after evidence of proper notification has been provided. In this respect, please refer to the section “Storage of time stamps and consent features”.
You can also access and make changes to CME tests and any information you may have entered about your fields of expertise via the “My User Account” page in the “Dentory” section. In this respect, the corresponding area offers only one further possibility to retrieve and maintain stored data of your user account. Please therefore refer to the section “Maintaining your user account”. However, the selection of parameters available here is limited to what is relevant to the range of products offered by the Dentory section. For example, only the Dentory newsletter is displayed here, even if you also receive the Quintessence newsletter. In principle, you can therefore apply some general settings here that are relevant to Dentory or settings that are only relevant to Dentory. If you wish to edit all settings in one overview, please refer to the section “Maintaining your user account”.
However, the “My Account” page in the Dentory section also offers you the option of subscribing to online content and changing the type of subscription or cancelling it online. There are three access models to choose from, each of which indicate their scope and cost. If you choose a chargeable variant here, this selection is saved with a time stamp, as the information is required for the fulfilment of the contract.
In the Dentory section you can register to receive a newsletter. This newsletter is independent of other newsletters which you can request via the Portal. The implementation, however, is identical, so please refer in respect of this to the “Newsletter” section. The registration takes place via a double opt-in procedure, in which you will first be sent a link. You can object to the sending of the newsletter at any time. All further details regarding the Dentory newsletter can be found in the “Newsletter” section, which also describes the procedure for using the Dentory newsletter.
The Dentory section of the Web Portal offers you the opportunity to exchange ideas with other experts in an online forum. The forum is also open to you as a registered user of the Portal, as long as you provide proof that you are a student of dentistry or a dentist. Please note, however, that entries appear in a personalised way. This means that your academic title/degree and surname and first name, the time stamp of the entry, as well as the review score and the review text will appear with each post. If you wish to delete one of your posts, please contact us by email.
Processing of personal data outside the European Union only takes place if you order third-party products from corresponding countries or use integrated services of third-party providers who themselves collect data and store it in third countries. Shop operators do not have access to account data of other shops of the portal. However, if you, as a registered user, place an order in one of the shops operated by external companies, your corresponding data will be transferred to the respective company for the execution of the order and for billing purposes. Not all shops are operated by companies of the Group that are based within the EU. Such orders and the corresponding contact data are also transferred to third countries. In this case, the transfer will only take place after the consent of the data subject, i.e. after you have actively initiated an order or purchase. You can see from the respective shop in which country you placing your order. In addition, explicit reference to the respective link to the imprint and data protection statement of the respective shop operator. All shop operators of the Website belong to the Quintessence Group, which ensures that each shop operator handles your data responsibly and in accordance with the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation.
