Prof. Nikolaos Donos DDS, MS, FHEA, FDSRC, PhD

Professor Nikos Donos is the Chair of Periodontology & Implant Dentistry, the Director of Clinical Research, the Head of the Centre for Oral Clinical Research and the Lead for the Centre of Oral Immunobiology & Regenerative Medicine at the Institute of Dentistry, Barts & The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). Prof. Donos is also the Director of the ITI scholarship Centre and the Director of the Osteology Research Scholarship Centre, both at QMUL. In 2009, Professor Donos has been awarded the title of Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry in Hong Kong, in 2012 the title of Adjunct Professor at the Dental School, Griffith University in Australia, in 2015 the title of Honorary Professor at UCL-Eastman Dental Institute and in 2019 the title of Honorary Professor, School of Dentistry, University of Queensland, Australia. In 2011, Professor Donos was awarded the prestigious International Association for Dental Research (IADR)-Periodontology Group Award in Periodontal Regenerative Medicine and in 2019 the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) Clinical Research Award for his contribution as co-author for “outstanding published scientific manuscript with direct clinical relevance and application to the practice of periodontics”. In 2004, Professor Donos received the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO)-Basic Science Research Award. Professor Donos was the President of the British Society of Periodontology & Implant Dentistry (BSP) (2020) and is a board member at the Osteology Foundation (Switzerland) as well as the Academic Representative at the Committee of the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI)(UK). Professor Donos is involved as editorial board member in international peer-reviewed journals in the field of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry where he has published more than 240 scientific publications. Professor Donos is/has been involved in a number of consensus conferences for the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP), the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO), The International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the Osteology Foundation all of which provide the most up-to-date evidence based information for different clinical situations in the fields of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. Prof Donos has significant clinical experience in providing advanced treatment modalities to patients suffering from severe periodontal disease. Those modalities include all steps (non-surgical and surgical) for the treatment of periodontal disease including periodontal and bone tissue regeneration and replacement of missing teeth with dental implants. Furthermore, Professor Donos has significant experience in non-surgical and surgical treatment of peri-implant diseases (peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis). All the above clinical problems and their treatments are topics that Professor Donos regularly covers in his lectures on a national and international level.

Prof. Dr. Eli Eliav DMD, MSc, PhD

Dr. Eliav is a professor and the Director of the Eastman Institute for Oral Health, Vice President for Oral Health at the University of Rochester Medical Center and the Vice Dean for Oral Health within its School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Eliav earned his Dental Degree (1991), MSc (1995) and PhD (2004) from the Hebrew University and Hadassah in Jerusalem. Dr. Carlo Ercoli DDS

Dr. Ercoli is chairman of the Prosthodontics Postgraduate Training Program at EIOH. A native of Italy where he earned his dental degree, Dr. Ercoli continued his advanced training in ways to restore the comfort, appearance and function of the mouth when patients have missing or damaged teeth (prosthodontics). He is also trained in treatment of the jaw and facial muscles (the areas affected by TMD and TMJ), and of the gums and tissues that support the teeth. Dr. Ercoli is internationally published in prosthodontics and implant dentistry and has lectured locally, nationally and internationally. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and past president of the American Prosthodontic Society. Dr. Carlo Ercoli is Professor of Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Implant Surgery and Chairman of the Prosthodontic Department at the University of Rochester, Eastman Institute for Oral Health where he also serves as the Director for the Center of Excellence for Digital Dentistry. He graduated from the “Enrico Berlinguer” Dental Technology Institute in Rome in 1987 and obtained his DDS from the University of Siena, Italy in 1993. He specialized in Prosthodontics in 1996 at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York and completed a specialty training in Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Joint Disorders in 1997. In 2012, he achieved specialty certification in Periodontology. In 2019, he obtained his MBA from the Simon Business School of the University of Rochester.

Dr. Ercoli is a Past President of the American Prosthodontic Society, Executive Council Member of the Academy of Prosthodontics, Honorary Member of the Italian Academy of Prosthodontics, Founding Member of the Italian Society of Prosthodontics and Oral Rehabilitation, Education and Research Director of the American College of Prosthodontists, Board Member of the American College of Prosthodontists Education Foundation, and Director-Elect of the American Board of Prosthodontics. He served as Executive Council member of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, Scientific Program Chair of the American Prosthodontics Society, American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and Academy of Prosthodontics (2024 Program). Dr. Ercoli is a diplomate of the American Boards of Prosthodontics and Periodontology, an ITI Fellow and Chair of the USA ITI East Region, in addition to serving as a Member of the World Workshop on the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-implant Diseases and Conditions. Dr. Newton Fahl Jr. DDS

Dr. Newton Fahl Jr. received his DDS degree from Londrina State University, Brazil, in 1987. In 1989 he received the Certificate in Operative Dentistry and Master of Science degree from the University of Iowa, USA. After returning to Brazil, he settled in Curitiba, where he maintains a private practice emphasizing esthetic and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Newton Fahl, Jr. is a member of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED), and founding member and past-president of the Brazilian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry (BSAD). He is a MCG-Hinman Foundation fellow. Vincent Fehmer, MDT, received his dental technical education and degree in Stuttgart, Germany, before completing fellowships in Great Britain and the United States in Oral Design–certified dental technical laboratories. After working several years in such a laboratory in Berlin, he received his MDT degree and became the chief dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics in Zurich, Switzerland. Since 2015, he has been a dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials in Geneva, Switzerland. He also runs his own laboratory in Lausanne. Mr Fehmer is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology, an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED), and a member of the Oral Design group as well as the European Association of Dental Technology (EADT) and the German Society of Esthetic Dentistry (DGÄZ). He is a sought-after international speaker and has received many honors for his work, including the Kenneth Rudd Award from the American Prosthodontic Society. He has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals within the field of fixed prosthodontics and digital dental technology, contributed to many books, and recently coauthored the book Fixed Restorations: A Clinical Guide to the Selection of Materials and Fabrication Technology with Irena Sailer and Bjarni Pjetursson. Mr Fehmer also serves as Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry, Section Editor for the International Journal of Prosthodontics, and co-chair for the 26thInternational Symposium on Ceramics (June 2023).
