Prof. Dr. med. Uwe Paasch beschäftigt sich seit 20 Jahren mit der Anwendung von Laserlicht in der Dermatologie. Die Erforschung etablierter und experimenteller Laserwirkungen auf histologischer Ebene ist Gegenstand zahlreicher aktueller Studien seines Teams. Er leitet das Ausbildungszentrum für Laser in der Ästhetik der Dermatologie der Universität Leipzig.

Consultant/Honorary Senior Lecturer in Endodontics
Shanon divides his time between specialist practice in central London, and teaching in the Endodontic Postgraduate Unit at King's College London. His primary research interests include the factors influencing tooth survival, management of root resorption, dental trauma, and the applications of CBCT in Endodontics. He has supervised over 35 Masters and PhD students. His expertise in endodontic imaging led to him being the lead author of the European Society of Endodontology's position statement on CBCT in Endodontics. Shanon is regularly invited to lecture nationally and internationally on a variety of endodontic themes. He has published over 60 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, (co-)authored 15 book chapters, and co-edited three endodontic textbooks.
Francesco Pedetta, MD, DDS, graduated in medicine and surgery with a postgraduate dentistry qualification in Italy. In 1991, he joined the prestigious Postgraduate School of Orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he gained his Certificate of Orthodontics under the guidance of Dr Robert L. Vanarsdall. After returning to Italy, he set up a private practice limited exclusively to orthodontics and temporomandibular disorders but continued to lecture at the University of Pennsylvania as well as at Perugia University. In 2012, he met the master of orthodontics, Dr Larry Andrews, who initiated him into the Six Elements philosophy, inspiring him to completely change his approach. Dr Pedetta then devoted himself to teaching this philosophy. He went on to develop his personal orthodontic approach known as the New Straight Wire approach, which incorporates all of Andrews's teachings in an up-to-date and effective method encompassing diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapy.
Prof. A. Piattelli, since 1988, teaches Oral Pathology and Medicine to the undergraduate students of the third year of the Dental School of the University of Chieti. Since 2014, he teaches also to the undergraduate students of the second and third years of the Degree in Oral Hygiene. He is also a teacher of Oral Pathology to the students of the Specialty Boards in Oral Surgery and Orthodontics. Since 2013 he is the Director of a Ph.D. program, at the University of Chieti, in Bone Regeneration Techniques with the use of stem cells and different types of biomaterials. In the last 20 years he has followed several Ph.D. students in the preparation of their Ph.D. Dissertations. In the last decade, he has been invited twice to be the opponent at the Thesis Defense of two Swedish Ph.D. students at the Department of Biomaterials of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. From 1995 to 1999 he has been Honorary Senior Lecturer in Oral Medicine at the Eastman Dental Institute, London, UK. In 2011-2012 he was the leader of a group of several researchers from a few Italian University who received a grant of about One Million Euros from the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (M.I.U.R.), Rome, Italy, for a study on bone regeneration procedures with the use of different scaffolds and different types of stem cells. In the years 1995-1997 he was the President of the Italian Society of Oral Pathology and Medicine (S.I.P.M.O.). In the years 2001-2003 he was the President-Elect of the Italian Society of Osseointegration (S.I.O), and from 2003 to 2005 its President. From 1997 to 2009 he was the Dean and Director of Research of the Dental School of the University of Chieti. He is member of several professional societies, member of the board of several scientific journals, and an ad hoc reviewer of many scientific journals.
Dr. Pjetursson, received his DDS from University of Iceland in 1990. Form 1990 to 2000 he worked as a general dentist in his private clinic in Iceland. In 2000 he started his postgraduate training in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the Univer sity of Berne, Switzerland. He received his specialist certificate (EFP & SSP) and Masters of Advanced Studies in Periodontology and Doctorate in Dentistry (Dr. med. dent) from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Berne, Switzerland. From 2003 to 2005 he did his postgraduate training in Prosthodontics at the University of Berne, Switzerland. From 2005 he was an Assistant Professor and Senior lecturer at the Department of Periodontology and Fixed Prosthodontics, University of Berne.
Presently he is a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Reconstructive Dentistry and Dean, Faculty of Odontology, University of Iceland. Invited Professor at the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials at the University of Geneva. Dr. Pjetursson is an ITI Fellow and member of the editorial board of Clinical Oral Implants Research, European Journal for Oral Implantology. He has published extensively in resent years. He has also given over 400 lectures in 40 countries around the world. His research interests are clinical studies in Implant Dentistry and evidenced based evaluation of different treatment modalities in Implant- and Prosthetic Dentistry.
